L-R: Hannah Kelley, Connor Vest, NECA President David Hardt, Gabe Behan, Kyle Alcaraz, and Instructor/Coach Sherif Attallah
Please join me in congratulating our BSU team for their 1st place finish in the Green Energy Challenge poster competition! This makes back-to-back first place victories for the Ball State Team!
Our team of four students, Connor Vest, Hannah Kelley, Gabe Behan, and Kyle Alcaraz, and Coach Sherif Attallah received the award yesterday while attending the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) convention in Seattle, WA. All are members of Ball State’s NECA Student Chapter and are attending the convention through the generosity of the Edward M. Gossett Memorial Foundation and the Central Indiana Chapter of NECA.
The Green Energy Challenge is a student competition sponsored by ELECTRI International and NECA where “teams demonstrate their ability to analyze particular electrical construction management ‘problems’ outlined for them and create a comprehensive plan and budget for an appropriate retrofit.” This year’s competition focused on a community organization and the Ball State team partnered with the Muncie Boys and Girls Club for their project. The team submitted a full proposal last spring and entered the poster competition at the convention.
Congratulations to Connor, Hannah, Gabe, Kyle, and Dr. Attallah for their repeat victory – well done!
