Advanced Estimating of Electrical Construction

May 1-2, 2017 - Indianapolis JATC

Developed to discuss all phases of the estimating process, this course covers all aspects of preparing a competitive bid. Key topics include identifying desirable bid opportunities, analyzing the company's capabilities to ensure profitable results, the estimator’s role at various stages of the project, writing an effective scope letter, and identifying often hidden costs in the bid documents.

Following this class, participants will be able to:
• Discuss the steps necessary to prepare a competitive bid
• Identify the most desirable bid opportunities
• Describe how a company’s capabilities can be analyzed to ensure profits
• Discuss cash flow and bonding
• Discuss relevant contract terms
• Identify price adjustment techniques, overhead, and profit
• List the documents required to estimate a construction project

Target audience: This class is designed for estimators with one year or more of experience. **Minimum experience required: six months of hands-on estimating.**

This class will be limited to one attendee per member firm. If you would like to register more than one person, indicate this in the applicable field on the registration form with names of those you would like to add to the wait list. Starting March 31, people on the wait list will be registered for the class as space allows. Course Dates: Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Continental breakfast, lunch, and beverages will be provided.

Registration fee: $450.00 per person

Payment: Fees may be paid by check or using your firm's Member Spending Account funds, should sufficient credits exist. Cancellation policy: Firms who cancel their registrations less than 7 days prior to the event will be invoiced (or MSA charged) for the full registration fee.
