DOL Requests Employer Comments on FLSA Overtime Exemptions Rule

The Department of Labor (DOL) is requesting comments from employers on the new rule on overtime exemptions for executive, administrative and professional employees. The deadline for comments is September 25.

 

We have been following this rule since last summer when it was first proposed by the Obama administration. Legal challenges prevented the rule from being enforced, and the Trump administration would like employer feedback on how to best rewrite the rule so that the impact will be manageable.

 

You can easily comment online using www.regulations.gov; simply copy and paste the RFI number "1235-AA20" into the search box. They are requesting answers to a specific set of questions, which you can find here.
