2/9/2021 Update: Job Fair & DEI Survey

Good Afternoon!

We’re in the bleakest part of the year for most folks, and February is doing its best to make it as cold and snowy as it can. Still, there’s some good news to impart and new opportunities as well.

JOB FAIR

We will be working with the NLMCC to host two job fairs in our Muncie Richmond Division to hire over 20 JIW and 200+ CW level employees over the next month. These events are available for all contractors working in Local 855. Information on these events as follows:

1st Job Fair, February 25, 2021, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At the Delaware County Fairgrounds Heartland Building

1210 Wheeling Ave.

Muncie, IN 47303

2nd Job Fair, March 11, 2021, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At the Delaware County Fairgrounds Heartland Building

1210 Wheeling Ave.

Muncie, IN 47303

Social distancing and masks will be mandatory for these events. If you are interested in participating, please let me know ASAP, and we will help get you set up and include your company in the marketing for the event.

SURVEY

In September 2020, NECA formed our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force with a goal of empowering a cultural shift in diversity, equity, and inclusion through education, opportunity, awareness, and open dialogue by developing an awareness and education platform to foster a work environment within the electrical industry that supports each person’s unique differences.

In order to understand where the electrical construction industry is going and where it needs to be, the first step is understanding where we are at, as an organization. NECA is personally asking for your participation in this important survey. As industry leaders, participating in this survey will give NECA the ability to collect critical data and act on it.

This survey is completely voluntary, and all of your responses will be kept confidential. No personal information will be associated with your responses. The deadline to submit surveys is March 4, 2021.

We all need to do our part in creating a more inclusive culture in our industry. It can no longer be acceptable to be ok with how things are. As industry leaders, we need to help speak up for those whose voices have not been heard.

We are particularly excited to be a part of this effort as Sam is actually on this committee.

That’s it for now. Have a great rest of your day!

Feel free to call if you have any questions and, as always, thanks for being a NECA member.
